Finally got a chance to visit Akshardham today. Since the complex was inagurated towards the end of last year, I'd 
been longing to visit the place. However, I could never manage to find someone to accompany me. Made a few plans, but they failed. Today I finally made past the gates . .
Actually, Vinay had to halt here en-route to Mumbai, and although I didn't have a hard and fast plan, it somehow materialised. I grabed the opertunity with both hands when it came my way.
Although we didn't have much time to properly roam arround the whole complex (its quite big), I found it qite interesting. The marble work in the main temple is just amazing. Considering that its a modern era constuction, I'd not like to compare it with Konark and the likes, however, the intricacy of the marble-work leaves you spelbound. It's too bad that they do not let you photograph out there, the place is beautiful. I'd love to go there again . .
